(April 18, 2017) — As high school student-athletes in Loudoun County make their decisions on what to do with their futures, many choose to continue pursuing an athletic career in college. LoCoSports is here to tell you about Life After Loudoun.

    • Stone Bridge High School graduate Niki Prince (2013) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association softball player of the week for the week of April 10 – April 16 after leading No. 15 James Madison to a 3-0 weekend. During the Division I Dukes’ sweep, Prince went 7-for-8 with one walk, six runs, ten RBI and three stolen bases. Prince went 5-for-5 during the day one doubleheader against the Blue Hens, including a double, a triple and a home run. The senior shortstop now leads the CAA with a .411 batting average, is No. 2 in the CAA with 42 RBI and tied for third in the CAA with 34 runs scored.
    • Round Hill-resident Hannah Dewey picked up her third win of the season – and second over a Top-20 opponent – as she lead the Division I Maryland softball team past No. 18 Michigan on April 15 in College Park. The senior southpaw went six innings, surrendering just one earned run to earn the 2-1 victory. The Southern-California transplant picked up her first win of the season after going 5.1 innings, allowing just one earned run against No. 1 Florida on February 18.
    • Stone Bridge High School graduate J.B. Bukauskas (2014) improved to 6-0 after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning of Division I North Carolina’s 7-2 win over N.C. State on April 14 in Chapel Hill. Bukauskas struck out six over his seven innings of work as the No. 4 Tar Heels improved to 28-6 overall and 13-3 in the ACC.
    • Loudoun County High School graduate Michael Rexrode (2014) helped Division I Rutgers’ men’s lacrosse team to its first Big Ten win of the season over Michigan on April 8. Rexrode caused a turnover and picked up four ground balls in the Scarlet Knights’ 14-7 win.
    • Making his first career start, Heritage High School graduate Tyler Daily (2016) scooped up two ground balls in Lenoir–Rhyne University’s men’s lacrosse win over Lincoln Memorial on April 15. The Division II Bears are currently 11-1 and 7-0 in the South Atlantic Conference and will play in a SAC tournament quarterfinal on April 25.
    • Loudoun Valley High School graduate Will Geise (2013) scored three goals in Christopher Newport’s men’s lacrosse loss against York on April 15. Geise will lead the Division III Captains into Capital Athletic Conference tournament play against Southern Virginia University on April 19.
    • Potomac Falls High School graduate Holly Carlton (2016) was named to USA Volleyball’s Women’s Junior National U20 team for the Pan American Cup. Carlton and the USWJNT-U20PAC will compete in the 2017 U20 Women’s Pan American Cup on May 8-13 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
