Sterling (February 9, 2017) – Freedom High School junior Sydney Wrighte – who was sidelined with an injury for most of the season – has reentered tournament competition right where she left off: on top.
On February 8, Wrighte – the defending VHSL state champion – held on to her VHSL 5A North region crown in the all-around (39.250), as she led the Lady Eagles to a second place finish at the region meet in Sterling.
Wrighte will advance to the VHSL open championship on February 18 at Patriot High School in the all-around. Woodgrove High School sophomore River Stone – who placed fourth in the region meet (37.150) – will also represent Loudoun in the all-around at the individual state meet.
