(December 15, 2016) – The VHSL 5A has selected its all-state team for football. Highland Springs High School senior Juwan Carter was named Offensive Player of the Year. L.C. Bird High School senior Rayshard Ashby was named Defensive Player of the Year. Highland Springs High School head coach Loren Johnson was named Coach of the Year.
