    • A trio of LoCo grads has helped the University of Mary Washington baseball club’s pitching staff to a 23-14 season and some votes in the latest Division III baseball polls. Tuscarora High School graduate Bernie Mayflower (2012), Woodgrove High School graduate Hank Biggs (2015) and Broad Run High School graduate Jonathan Truba (2015) have combined to pitch in 78 of the Division III Eagles’ 313 innings this spring. Mayflower is currently 3-1 with a 3.63 ERA leading the LoCo graduates with 39.2 innings pitched. Truba has pitched 21 innings while posting a 2-0 record while Biggs has added 17.1 innings. Mary Washington has two games left against York on April 16 before starting the Capital Athletic Conference tournament on April 19.
    • Freedom High School graduate Kyle Wrighte (2014) continues to impress the William & Mary baseball community as the redshirt freshman is batting .301 with five doubles, 19 RBIs and 28 runs scored on the season. The Division I Tribe is currently 15-17 overall with a 3-4 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association. William & Mary is back in action on April 15 when they travel to Harrisonburg to start a three-game set with James Madison.
    • Heritage High School graduate Zack Hopeck (2014) has rattled off three straight solid starts for the Coastal Carolina baseball team including a win over The Citadel on March 30. In those three starts — against The Citadel, nationally-ranked South Carolina and previously nationally-ranked Charleston — Hopeck allowed four earned runs on twelve hits while striking out twelve in 13.1 innings of work. The Divison I Chanticleers — who are currently 24-10 overall and 8-1 in the Big South — are back in action on April 15 to start a three-game series with Presbyterian.
    • Early next week Hopeck and the Chants will travel to Chapel Hill to take on the No. 13 North Carolina Tar Heels and Stone Bridge High School graduate J.B. Bukauskas (2014). In his eight starts this season, Bukauskas is 5-1 with a 3.15 ERA. The highly-touted prospect has struck out 68 while allowing opponents just a .217 batting average on the season. Midway through their regular season, the Division I Tar Heels are 24-9 overall and 8-7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with their next game coming on April 15 against Virginia.
    • Fellow ACC competitor and Stone Bridge High School graduate Sydney Broderick (2013) has No. 8 Florida State softball off to a 31-4 record including a 10-1 record in the conference. After transferring to FSU from BYU prior to her junior season, Broderick is hitting .380 with nine doubles, three long balls, 32 RBIs, 25 runs scored and a .464 on-base percentage. The Divison I Seminoles are back in action on April 16 to start a three-game series with Boston College.
    • Loudoun County High School graduate Renay Aubel (2012) picked up the Capital Athletic Conference softball player of the week honors for the week of March 28 through April 3 after helping Frostburg State to a 2-0 record on the week. During the weekend sweep of Wesley, Aubel went 5-for-6 with eight RBIs, three runs scored, a triple and a home run. With nine games left in their regular season, the Division III Bobcats are 22-8 overall and 7-2 in the CAC with their next game coming on April 14 against Dickinson.
    • Softball honors also went to Loudoun Valley High School graduate Kailey Liverman (2015) who earned Eastern College Athletic Conference rookie of the week honors for the week of April 4 through April 10 after helping Westminster College to a 2-0 record on the week. During the weekend sweep of Washington and Jefferson, Liverman went 3-for-8 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a double. In the midst of a nine-game win streak, Liverman has helped the Division III Titans in her freshman campaign hitting .424 with a team-high 27 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Loudoun Valley teammate Addie Dieterich (2014) matched her little sister’s performance against Washington and Jefferson going 3-for-7 with two RBIs and a double. Fellow Westminster Titan and Woodgrove High School graduate Jazmyn Rohrer (2014) has dominated her opponents in the circle of late winning her last five decisions. During the two week span, Rohrer has allowed just three earned runs on thirteen hits while striking out 39. Westminster — which is currently 13-11 overall and 6-0 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference — is back in action on April 14 in a doubleheader against Chatham.
